A "blog" is a web log. It is just like a class discussion or writing assignment, except it's on the internet. You are able to post comments, pictures, and so much more! We will conduct class discussions through our secure classroom blog.
This is the first time I have ever used a Blog before in my classroom, so there may be some moments throughout the year when our standing rules may change. However for now, these are the "Standing Rules" so to speak for posting entries in my classroom blog. Please remember that this fun new technology is another tool we will use in the classroom to learn new things together. It is very important that we use this learning tool in an appropiate manner. When you write with paper and pencil, you take ownership of what you produce. Our classroom blog is not different. You will be responsible for posting your comments and responses. Use our blog wisely. If you have any questions, please ask.
Rules:
1. Please write/type in complete sentences.
2. Each entry you post will have different requirements for length, so please read the instructions first for each prompt before you start.
3. Be honest, but civil. There will be times you will be asked to state your opinion and when you do, be honest. Inevitably you will have a different opinion than one of your class mates or peers. If or when that happens, this is OK! However, you must be civil, meaning polite, when you disagree with someone's statement or their thoughts. Name calling, put downs, inappropriate language, or anything defined as bullying will NOT be tolerated! Remember, this is a school assignment, so follow the school rules at all times!
